The challenge
Generic chatbots on Shopify stores either hallucinate answers or go silent on anything store-specific — inventory, order status, custom policies. Merchants also pay per-message on most platforms, making traffic spikes punishing. The goal was a support agent that gives grounded, accurate answers from live store data, escalates cleanly when needed, and charges a flat rate that merchants can actually plan around.
What we built
ChatRely is a full SaaS product — from merchant onboarding to widget embed — built and shipped end to end. Merchants connect their Shopify store in one click to sync live catalog, inventory, and order data. A knowledge base indexes their site pages, uploaded documents, and custom Q&A pairs. The agent grounds every reply in that content, uses live Shopify tool calls for order lookups and product search, and returns a structured card with image and stock when a shopper asks about a product. When the agent reaches the edge of its confidence, it escalates cleanly with full conversation context attached. A merchant dashboard covers the full loop: playground for testing before going live, conversation review, analytics, sentiment tracking, and widget customization.
